Certain members of the Democratic Central Committee are elected every four years in the primaries preceeding presidential elections. These members are elected by district. Other committee members are "ex officio" members due to their position as elected officials such as a member of the State Assembly or State Senate. The Democratic central committee issues charters to Democratic clubs.

Democrats With Disabilities

Serving people with disablilities in Contra Costa County. We have members nationwide. Memberships range from no cost (for unemployed disabled persons) to $35 (supporting membership), and membership of people without disabilities is welcomed. Among our members are Congressman George Miller, Assembly member Bob Campbell, Contra Costa County Supervisor Tom Torlakson, BART dirctor Dan Richard and Pittsburg City Council member Joseph Canciamilla.

Maggie (a.k.a "Maggie Dee") also operates Helping Hand and Christmas Adopt-a-Family. Helping Hand assists fixed income and minimum wage earning people in Eastern Contra Costa County with needs such as furnishings. clothing, and baby and infant care equipment and welcomes donations furnishings, clothing, and money from the public throughout the county.
