Walnut Creek Club Annouces Regional Information Website.

-Walnut Creek, California.

A spokesman for the Walnut Creek Democratic Club (WCDC), announced the presence of a new Internet web site for the Mount Diablo Region. This site, sponsored by the WCDC, contains cultural, historical, educational, and recreational information for Central and Eastern Contra Costa County. "The site has three purposes", said the spokesman. "First, as a community service to the region, second, to present information about Democratic clubs, activities, and candidates, and third, as a means of promoting Democratic Party clubs, goals, and ideals." The spokesman continued, "We've attempted to keep the public service side non-partisan, although you might find a little good humored 'spin' in the page on the 680/24 interchange". (The title of that page is "Disfunction Junction".)

"We hit the Republicans pretty hard, but that is confined to the political branch of the site."

The present content of the site is strong on Mount Diablo, hiking trails, Natural Science studies, and the 680/24 junction construction. The spokesman noted that these are all unofficial pages, similar to a regional guidebook.

The club is actively soliciting contributors to the web site and is offering free pages to non-partisan clubs, social and service groups, and historical sites.

The site may be viewed through a link at "http://www.ccdemo.org". For additional information contact the WCDC Webmaster at (510) 946-0904 or e-mail to "wcdc@ccdemo.org" - attention Webmaster.
